An Automated Barrier

This system (called Sinusmatic in French educational circles) transforms a circular uniform motion of a point (in red, at the base of the blue cylinder) into a plane rotation of a line (the two-color barrier) around one of its endpoints. The amplitude of rotation depends simply on the angle of precession . Relative motions are shown with short black lines.
