Compressed Constrained Cellular Automaton Initialization

Compressed constrained initial conditions of cellular automata can be specified by a meta-initialization with rules for replacing its digits with substrings. The top plot visualizes the compressed initialization. The middle plot gives the expanded initialization. The bottom plot shows the evolution on a green background if it became periodic within the displayed range of steps. Particular constrained initializations may trigger or suppress atypical behaviors.
