Finding Segments of an Image by Filtering Its Distance Transform

This Demonstration shows different distance transforms applied to an image. Running the Laplacian of a Gaussian filter on the result highlights the valleys and ridges in the distance transform, which yields a regional segmentation of the objects in the image.
