Five-Neighbor 2D Totalistic Cellular Automata
Interesting patterns can be found among the 64 possible five-neighbor 2D totalistic cellular automata (CA) with random initial conditions. These CA use a von Neumann neighborhood. For example, rule 52 tends to cluster black cells together.
