Consider an ideal binary mixture composed of -heptane and -octane. The feed to a flash drum is composed of 50% mole of -heptane at a temperature equal to 303 K. This feed is flash vaporized at . When you set the desired vapor fraction, the Demonstration computes the vapor and liquid compositions as well as the temperature in the separator. The heat added is also calculated.
