This Demonstration is a 2D model of a room with a point source of heat in the center; it uses Newton's law of cooling and the effect of distance on temperature. As time passes, the circle representing the heat source in the center cools, becoming dimmer. The particles move more slowly as the temperature decreases due to the reduction in kinetic energy.
