This Demonstration shows how changing the size and separation of a capacitor changes its capacitance. In addition, the exponential decay of the voltage across the capacitor in an RC (resistor-capacitor) circuit is shown.

The color of the capacitor plates indicates the amount of charge on the capacitor at the selected time. Green indicates less charge while red indicates a lot of charge.
