This Demonstration describes the variation in purity and yield in the chromatographic separation of an antibody. In a separation operation, you can generally get high purities or high yields, but not both. The graphic shows the progress of the separation with time for varying initial concentrations of antibody and impurities. Also shown is the number of theoretical plates in the separation.
