Given an image, we can obtain its underlying graph and process it by using the new graph functions available in Mathematica 8. This Demonstration shows the image of the city of Champaign, Illinois, obtained through WolframAlpha (at the time this was written) and its morphological graph. Using a random vertex, we highlight its neighborhood subgraph, which contains all edges and vertices up to a chosen distance from the vertex.
