This Demonstration shows how a twist-style wine-bottle opener works. The first four clockwise twists propel the corkscrew into the cork. When the cam hits the top of the frame, it filps into a horizontal position, thus exposing the opening at its top, through which the threaded shaft can spiral upward. Further twists then pull the cork out of the bottle. Fortunately, you can enjoy your glass of wine without worrying about the details of this mechanism.
