This Demonstration lets you manipulate a four-dimensional immersion of the Klein bottle while viewing a straight orthogonal projection of the surface from into . Unlike immersions in , this parameterization uses the extra dimension to avoid self-intersection. Although the 4D immersion has no self-intersections, projecting into 3D space makes it appear as if there were.
