Using a combination of plots of several mathematical equations and expressions, this Demonstration generates a sketch of the famous painting American Gothic by Grant Wood. It is one of the most familiar images in twentieth-century American art and has been widely parodied in American popular culture. The painting depicts a farmer holding a pitchfork standing beside a woman.
