In the range 0 to there are binary integers with 1-bits at k digit positions. The first graphic displays, in columns, the numbers in the range 0 to in steps of 1, from right to left. Black represents the digit 1. The second graphic groups the numbers in rows according to how many 1-bits they contain in binary. The third shows those same numbers as columns.
