Colorize Morphological Components in Three-Dimensional Totalistic Cellular Automata

Requires a Wolfram Notebook System
Interact on desktop, mobile and cloud with the free Wolfram Player or other Wolfram Language products.
Find interesting patterns in three-dimensional cellular automaton (CA) images and colorize segmented parts based on their volume at different steps by varying the controls. Change the clipping to remove a portion of the volume to show hidden components inside the graphic. Increase the total number of components by unchecking "corner neighbors." Change "clipping" in one dimension (the direction) to see all the slices in that direction.
