Combining Ions to Form Chemical Compounds
Requires a Wolfram Notebook System
Interact on desktop, mobile and cloud with the free Wolfram Player or other Wolfram Language products.
Match cations and anions to form chemical compounds by dragging the corresponding colored disks. The name of the last chemical compound formed appears at the top. When combined into a neutral compound, ions change their coordination numbers. This is reflected in the subscripts of the compound's chemical formula.
