The squares of the numbers from 0 to 14 are 0, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100, 121, 144, 169, 196.

Those squares are 0, 1, 4, 9, 1, 10, 6, 4, 4, 6, 10, 1, 9, 4, 1. The numbers 0, 1, 4, 6, 9, 10 are the possible quadratic residues . The missing numbers 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14 are the nonresidues.
