Deep drawing is a manufacturing method to form cylindrical vessels (cups) from sheet metal. The sheet metal is placed over a hole (die) and a cylindrical tool (punch) is used to press the sheet through the hole. The difference in diameter between the hole and the punch determines the wall thickness of the vessel.
