A univariate dataset (i.e., a list of numbers) can be briefly described in a variety of numerical and graphical ways. The left side of the image shows the histogram and the box (or box-and-whisker) plot for a dataset, and the right side shows some numerical measures of location and spread. A different dataset can be obtained by moving the "dataset" slider. You can make the dataset more or less "spread out" by using the "spread" slider.
