This Demonstration illustrates the behavior of hydrostatic pressure in a uniform fluid. Equal pressure is exerted in every direction. As the depth increases, the pressure
increases, specifically
, where
is the density of the fluid,
is gravitational acceleration, and
is the depth of the fluid.
