# Interpreting Double Integral as a Volume

This Demonstration shows the relation of the double integral of a function over a rectangle to the volume under the surface . The volume is approximated by a sum over rectangular prisms. You can vary the number of equal subintervals along the and axes and the location of sample points for the prisms.
