This Demonstration analyzes the texts of speeches given by the vice-presidential and presidential nominees at the 2008 Democratic and Republican conventions. It plots the top 50 words and displays the top five words from the filtered and unfiltered texts (see below). If you hover your mouse over the points on the plot, you will see the word displayed.

The unfiltered text is the raw version of a speech; that is, no words have been left out. The filtered version leaves out the following words: "into, too, same, then, how, there, just, use, some, had, also, each, here, these, those, his, about, been, time, one, has, because, its, this, what, are, from, was, but, our, you, they, will, their, with, that, who, for, when, have, your, all, them, the, and, than, she, her, not, going".
