The Yin-Yang symbol is a Chinese representation of the entire celestial phenomenon. It is said to contain the cycle of the Sun, the Moon, and the four seasons.

It was observed in ancient China that the universe is changing every day. Hence, one little circle Yin (standing for the Moon) is marked at the summer position. Another little circle Yang (standing for the Sun) is marked at the winter position.
