This Demonstration was made as an aid in understanding the concepts of least common multiple and greatest common divisor. Move your mouse over the GCD and LCM calculation in the lower half in order to activate a mouseover effect that further explains where the numbers come from. The numbers inside the circles represent the integer factors that when multiplied result in the number above the circle. The GCD is visually represented as the largest square tile in the figure on the right.
