This Demonstration analyzes four different entropic explosives. The initial volumes of the reactants are standardized at in a sphere of radius 1. The radii of the sphere and that of the gaseous products after detonation are shown.

Details

This analysis assumes that the expansion of gaseous products is sufficiently instantaneous that it is not necessary to consider the contribution of the heat released. Additionally, the detonation of TATP does not incorporate the combustion of the gaseous product acetone.
