The little red arrow points to the trigger that has to be pushed on a real umbrella, but here using the slider does that for you.

The closing happens in two phases:

First the lateral parts are collapsed; then the three parts of the central shaft glide into each other.

The measurements of the parts were taken from a real umbrella.
