Nets for Polyhedral Approximations of the Sphericon

Slice a bicone with an opening angle of 90° with a plane containing the rotational axes. The cross section is a square; rotate the two pieces by 90°, and join them to get a sphericon. This Demonstration shows polyhedral approximations of the sphericon; the first is an octahedron.
