The Kicked Harper Model

The kicked Harper model is a quantum mechanical system whose dynamics reduces Harper's Hamiltonian to a two-dimensional area-preserving map. Successive iterations appear to be attracted to the neighborhood of stable "islands," showing chaotic transport.
