Wave Packet Dispersion

— carrier wave vector
— wave vector spacing
— number of waves to form the superposition
Wave packets (localized wave trains) can be formed by the superposition of plane waves with slightly different wave vectors. Depending in the form of the dispersion relation, the wave packets can change shape with time.
