In the cellular automaton called the Game of Life, a configuration of cells that returns to a prior state after steps is called a period- oscillator. Prior to the year 2023, it was unknown if period 19 or period 41 oscillators existed. Due to recent discoveries by Mitchell Riley and Nico Brown [1], oscillators of all periods are now known.
