Plotting Pythagorean Triples

Pythagorean triples are sets of integer values for which the Pythagorean Theorem holds; that is, integer triples so that , where and are the legs of the triangle and the hypotenuse and the distance to the origin. See how the points are distributed in the plane.


Snapshot 1: Only the points showing the distribution of triples are plotted.
Snapshot 2: A small set of triples is shown to distinguish some particular values (coordinates are shown as tooltips).
Snapshot 3: Only half of the triples are shown: they are symmetric with respect to the line.
