This Demonstration shows the shape of a car moving at relativistic speed (in km/s) as measured by an observer at rest in an inertial frame (a non-accelerated system). The measurement exhibits a Lorentz contraction in the direction of motion, equal to the original length multiplied by the factor , where is the speed of light.
