Type I Ternary Liquid-Liquid Equilibrium Diagrams

Consider a ternary mixture of water, ethyl acetate, and acetone. This Demonstration displays the liquid-liquid equilibrium diagram, which is classified as type I, meaning that the diagram contains a single plait point, for user-set values of the temperature. Some green tie lines are shown. The plait point is calculated and shown by the red dot. In addition, some representative data is given when you select the "table" tab. All calculations are based on the NRTL model and use the arc-length continuation technique. Parameters for the NRTL model were obtained from HYSYS.
