Dynamics of Two Coupled Continuously Stirred Tank Reactors

The parameters of interest are , the coupling coefficient, which may be viewed as the ratio of cross-flow rate to feed rate to reactor 1, and , the ratio of Damköhler numbers of the reactors. When , each reactor has a stable periodic solution with a period 2.0917; increasing the value of decreases the frequency. Increasing the coupling coefficient shows interesting states of oscillation that lead to steady states for intermediate values of the coefficient.[less]
