This Demonstration showcases the capabilities of Wolfram|Alpha for finding scientific names and taxonomies of several species of butterflies commonly found in Europe. The photos were taken by the author around her home in the Venice area of northeastern Italy. The author manually performed each search and identification of the English common names of the butterflies. By clicking a butterfly image in the left panel, the corresponding common name is displayed in the table on the right, along with the scientific name and a short description retrieved by a Wolfram|Alpha query. A web connection is required for this Demonstration to work properly.

The code in the Demonstration illustrates the graphical user interface comprising a grid of setter controls with images as labels and strings as values, which might be useful in other applications.
